League 1 leaders Pompey will face the cods in the 27th game of their campaign tomorrow.

The two sides sit at opposite ends of the table, with Portsmouth in 1st on 53 points and Fleetwood in 24th on 18. 

Since Charlie Adam has taken over, the Reds are still yet to find a much-needed run of good form, with them currently having lost their last four league games in a row. 

Their most recent victory was against Exeter more than two months ago and they have just four wins in the league this season. 

It means that the Cod Army are currently eight points adrift of safety, as they try to avoid a return to the fourth tier for the first time since 2014.

Fleetwood's last result saw them lose 2-1 away at Cambridge in frustrating fashion, thanks to an injury-time winner from ex-Blackpool man Sullay Kaikai. 

Promise Omochere remains a key attacking threat for Adam's side, having scored in that game. 

John Mousinho's Portsmouth are still sitting at the top of the table, but a run of one win from six games means several sides are breathing right down their necks.

It finished 1-1 when the clubs met at Fratton Park just before Christmas, but Pompey won 2-0 the last time they came to Highbury. 

Fleetwood midfielder Brendan Wiredu has signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 24-year-old joined the Cod Army from Colchester United in 2022 and has since made 66 appearances, scoring twice in 16 appearances for them this season.
