Fleetwood’s last preview of the season vs Burton Albion

Despite Charlie Adam’s team being officially relegated to League Two last weekend, they still have one last game to complete the season.

It is their last game at Highbury Stadium and the men in red will still be playing to impress their supporters and their manager to close the season.

However, if Fleetwood win this match then they could send Burton down into relegation with them, if Cheltenham were to win their clash against Stevenage.

In their last five head-to-head fixtures, Burton Albion have won three matches, drew one and lost one to the Cod Army.

All of them games have took place in the last three seasons, with both sides being consistent in League One for the last five years.

In the 2013/14 season, the Cod Army missed out on automatic promotion and finished in fourth place.

They then went on to beat York City 1-0 on aggregate in the playoff semi-final, which led them to beat the Brewers 1-0 in the final to be promoted to League One for the first time in the seaside town’s history.

The lone goal was scored by Antoni Sarcevic in a free-kick style at Wembley - so there is great history between these teams.

Both teams have EXACTLY the same form in the same pattern in their last five matches - three losses and two wins.

We will discuss what Fleetwood’s future holds in the Fylde Football Podcast Season Two finale - on Coastal Radio’s website or Apple Podcasts.
