Blackpool FC Preview- Oxford United

Blackpool host Oxford United at Bloomfield Road this weekend.

The Seasiders suffered a 1-0 loss to Stevenage last weekend after a Jake Forster-Caskey shot took a deflection giving the three points to Boro.

At the weekend Oxford United drew 1-1 with rivals Reading which left The U’s sitting 7th in the league which now has them without a win in their last four.

The last time the sides met was back in October with Jordan Rhodes scoring an 92nd minute equaliser ending the game 1-1.

Blackpool have picked up 10 points in their last five games which the Tangerines sit 8th in the league with only five points separating the two sides.

Former Seasider Owen Dale made a move to Oxford United in the January transfer.

One To Watch

Mark Harris is The U’s current top goalscorer scoring nine and assisting one.

Harris signed for Oxford in July 2023 after leaving Cardiff City where he made several appearances and also had loan spells at Newport,Wrexham and Port Vale.

The 25 year-old was called up to the Welsh 2022 World Cup squad but didn’t feature in any of the games as Wales crashed out in the group stage.
