Blackpool FC Preview- Carlisle United

Blackpool host Carlisle United at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool’s FA Cup Second Round clash with Forest Green Rovers was postponed due to an FA investigation on the Green Devils.

The FA announced that Forest Green will replay the fixture against Scarborough on the 12th with the winner travelling to Bloomfield Road on the 19th.

The eventual winner will travel away to take on Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the third round.

Carlisle United suffered a 5-1 thrashing against Reading in the last fixture.

The Tangerines are sat 8th in the league with the Cumbrians sitting in 22nd in the relegation zone.

Blackpool came from behind to beat Barnsley 2-1 in the Bristol Streets Motors Trophy after Owen Dale tapped the ball in past the keeper and a superb Jake Beesley header claimed the Seasiders place in the Round of 16.

The Blues have only won three times in the league this season and their only away win came against high flying Bolton Wanderers with Jordan Gibson scoring a hat-trick.

Blackpool are ball number one in the Northern Section of the draw for the Round of 16 with the ties being played in the week commencing January the 8th.
