Remembrance Day services across the Fylde Coast this weekend

    Remembrance Day will be marked in Blackpool at the Cenotaph with services also taking place in Lytham and Fleetwood.

    A national two minute silence will take place on Saturday 11th November at 11am to mark Armistice Day. 

    On Sunday 12th, local authorities have organised their own services of remembrance with events taking place in Blackpool, Fleetwood, Lytham and Kirkham, leading up to a two minute national silence. 

    Blackpool's memorial tribute will begin outside the Cenotaph with a service from 10:55am, moment of reflection at 11am, followed by the wreath laying at 11:05am, before the procession starts at 11:45, making its way down the promenade. 

    Lytham will mark the day with a procession begining from Assembly Rooms on Dicconsons Terrace, making its way to the War Memorial. The civic party will be lead by Peter Anthony, deputy mayor. 

    In Kirkham, people have been asked to assemble on Orders Lane at 1:30pm. The service of Remembrance will commence at the Cenotaph at 2:00pm. The procession will return to the Community Centre at approximately 3:00pm where refreshments will be served. 

    Fleetwood Memorial Park, Warrenhurst Road on Remembrance Sunday 12 November 2023. The parade gathers at The Kings Own Club, Adelaide Street from 10.00am. The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sue Catterall and consort will attend this service along with the Chief Executive Officer of Wyre Council.

    Services will also take place in St.Annes and Poulton.
