Armageddon "Emergency Alert System" to be tested in UK this Sunday

The "Armageddon Alarm" will be tested this Sunday early evening

This Sunday (April 23rd) is the date they will be testing out the new emergency alert system in the UK

The new UK's "Armageddon Alert" will be coming to your phone this Sunday (April 23rd) in the early hours so don't be alarmed

The System is being planned for use in emergency's in the event of life threatening events such as flooding or other severe weather,

Its purpose is to allow for Emergency Services and the Government to send out warnings immediately to the public if there is a risk of life-threatening situations.

The alarm will continue going off and not allow people to use their phone until first acknowledging, ensuring that it is received properly ad that people are correctly informed in the case of flooding or wildfire's.

The Announcement around the alarm states that it will only be used in instances where their is an immediate risk to life, however, when it was first tested in reading, in 2021, many people noted being completely shocked by the alarm.

No data will be collected by the system the Government has insisted and the alert is free to receive, However, people can choose to opt out of receiving the alert entirely by toggling the "severe and extreme emergency alerts" setting in your phone. But this has been strongly suggested against by the Government and Emergency Services.
