Grundy Art Gallery has opened up two Collection Spotlight exhibitions as part of their Spring 2023 exhibition.

It is part of the gallery's ongoing work to use different themes, styles and subjects.

Blackpool's Grundy Art Gallery shows a year round programme of contemporary and visual art exhibitions and events.

The New Things Collection,  is an exhibition bringing together new artworks that the Grundy has acquired into the Collection during the last five years and created within the last decade.

It consists of over 40 artworks created by 25 different artists and includes drawings, sculptures, videos, installations and performances that reflect the modern age, e.g. the experience of COVID-19.

The second of the Collection Spotlight, Still Life, celebrates everyday things and symbolically creates messages about status, society and the truth of life and death.

It reimagines historical works with contemporary examples that references real life.

It includes on loan work from Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Touchstones Rochdale and the University of Salford Art Collection.

The Spring Collection is open from 15 April to 10 June 2023, on Queen Street and admission is free.

Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 4pm and last entry is 3:40pm.
