The Frame of the new Multi-Storey can be seen going up

The Structure on the site of the old Central Car Park is a part of Blackpool's £300m central leisure development.

Taking shape at the site of the old Central Car Park, the metal frame of the new £32m Multi-Storey car park can be seen as construction goes ahead, The Steel frame can be seen shooting up giving us a glimpse of its completed look.

The new car park, which will be operated by the Council, is being built as part of the first phase of a £300m Blackpool Leisure Development.

The Council have said that they would like the new car park to be up and running in time for the summer vacation later this year to take advantage of the increased tourism.

The original Central car park will however stay open during the process of construction but will have its number of spaces reduced, from 900 to 650, due to the construction work going on.

The new Multi-Storey will have over 1,300 spaces, with 25 of those being for Electric Vehicles (EV's), and will be fitted with CCTV, an office and bike storage facilities.

When completed, the former Central car park will then be closed to allow for the next stages of the project to proceed which will include three indoor themed attractions, one of which will be a Hi-Tech flying theatre, a 200 room Hotel and Bar, new Restaurants and outdoor entertainment spaces.
