Mereside Boys and Girls Club Gets Huge Makeover

    Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Blackpool Prince's Trust Team 87 Collaborate to Revamp Mereside Boys and Girls Club into a Thriving Safe Haven for Youth.

    Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, together with Blackpool Prince's Trust Team 87, is delighted to announce the successful culmination of a transformative three-week project at Mereside Boys and Girls Club.

    The initiative has seen this cherished community space undergo a remarkable makeover, providing a secure environment for children and young people to cultivate gardens and engage in recreational activities.

    Over the past three weeks, the dedicated young individuals from Team 87 have shown remarkable dedication and enthusiasm. Through their unwavering commitment, they have transformed Mereside Boys and Girls Club into a vibrant, welcoming hub for local youth.

    Daniel Thomson MBE from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Prince’s Trust said: "The project's primary goal was to create a safe and inviting space where children and young people can not only nurture their gardening talents but also enjoy playful activities.

    Thanks to the combined efforts of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Blackpool Prince's Trust Team 87, Mereside Boys and Girls Club is now poised to serve as an invaluable resource for the community."

    Dana Evans, Senior Worker in Charge from EPS, Blackpool Boys and Girls Club said: "This collaborative effort demonstrates the power of community engagement and youth empowerment, showcasing the positive impact that can be achieved when dedicated individuals come together to make a difference."
