Lancashire man wins £425,000 house in online competition

Max Fox from Thornton-Cleveleys has won a bungalow worth nearly half a million pounds, complete with £20,000 of new furniture, from Blackpool-based Elite Competitions.

Elite Competitions is an online competition company from Blackpool featured on Dragon's Den 2018 in and has been operating since 2016, helping over 70,000 winners receive over £50 million in prizes.

At the end of October, the Lancashire company launched a three-bedroom bungalow in Poulton-Le-Fylde, one of their biggest competitions yet.

This was their fourth house competition to date, and Max was the lucky winner, beating thousands of other entrants.

The property was valued by local estate agents at £425,000 and had undergone a £100,000+ renovation and refurbishment before being up for grabs.

On Friday 3rd November, Max, his husband and their family and friends visited the Poulton bungalow to make a life-changing decision: take the house or the cash alternative of £325,000. 

After viewing the property for the first time and discussing it with his family, Max opted to take the house and will shortly be moving from his current house with his husband to the bungalow.

Max said: “I’m not looking to capitalise on this by selling it on or renting it out, I’m looking for this to be my forever home”.

He joins over 70,000 winners since Elite Competitions began in 2016 and he is the first to choose the house over the cash with any of their previous house competitions.

Champagne was flying and celebrations were in full force when Max got the news.
