Fleetwood 'disorder' being investigated by Police

    On Thursday Night (16th March) a section 60 notice was put in place.

    Officers were called to Southfleet Avenue in Fleetwood at 10pm on 16th March, to reports of a vehicle being on fire. 

    'We are looking into an earlier report of disorder on Brook Street' said a statement from Lancashire Police; adding 'we believe the incidents were targeted and there is not thought to be a threat to the wider public'. 

    No arrests have been made at this current point, as enquires are currently ongoing. 

    A section 60 notice was put in place which gives officers the chance to stop and search members of the public. 

    The force have appealed for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. They also noted that they'd like to hear from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or ring doorbell footage of the incident.

    While no arrests have been made, patrols by officers in the area have increased. 

    Detective Chief Inspector Tracey McMurdo, of West Police said 'You may have see an increase in police activity in Fleetwood'. [This] follows several incidents of anti social behaviour and disorder involving weapons in the town. Behaviour which will not be tolerated nor accepted.
