At least three fire engines and Police responded to an incident within the Sainsburys complex at Bickerstaff Square.
Three fire engines from the Bispham, South Shore and St Annes were on scene; the fire is believed to have been caused by a vehicle that combusted inside the Sainsburys multi-story Car Park.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3:34pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Staff were evacuated from the site and a cordon was in place on Talbot Road from Buchanan Street to Cookson Street.
Police co-ordinated the traffic flow as people were able to return to their vehicles.
