
It is part of winter maintenance to the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Big One ride
A huge crane is planned to be set up on the Promenade outside the Pleasure Beach as part of a plan to replace segments of the track for the Big one.
The Ride, which is the UK's tallest sitting at 235ft above the Blackpool Seafront, is getting repair's and maintenance done over the winter in preparation for the season's start.
In total, 103m of track is set to be replaced, weighing a total of 23 tons, in order for this to happen the crane is to be constructed from the 7th of February which will then raise the the track into the park, the replacement segments have been made by a Chorley based company called Taziker who have been working with the Pleasure Beach since 2019.
The rollercoaster was originally opened in may 1994 and was called the 'Pepsi Max Big One', on its opening it was the tallest rollercoaster in the world, and although it is no longer in that number one spot, its still high up in the rankings, the ride celebrated its 25th birthday in 2019.
