Blackpool crash out of cup

Terry Robinson / Premier League Kick Off at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool

The Seasiders were in action last night (20th Feb) against fellow League One team Peterborough in the semi finals of the Football League Trophy.

Having already faced of against Peterborough at the weekend, coming out victorious, it was the away side that had the last bragging rights as they emerged three-nil victors in the Football League Trophy.

A first half goal scored by Malik Mothersille, put Peterborough one goal to the good going into the break.

Despite chances, Blackpool couldn't capitalise and found themselves in further trouble with 10 minutes left to go when O'Donnell made contact with Ricky-Jade Jones, who was through on goal; Up stepped Harrison Burrow who put the Posh two goals to the good at Bloomfield Road.

A further goal from Burrows ensured Blackpool's Wembley dreams were officially ended.
