Coastal Radio Local Hero Awards – Terms & Conditions

Public nominations All award nominations are submitted by members of the general public.
Judging panel Nominations are reviewed by an independent judging panel consisting of three representatives — one from each sector: Public, Voluntary, and Private.
Coastal Radio involvement Coastal Radio will only participate in the judging process if all three judges reach different decisions.
Nomination limits Each individual may submit one nomination per category.
Closing date Nominations close at midnight on Sunday, 20 September 2026. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
Judging criteria Nominations are assessed solely on the quality and strength of the submission, not on the number of nominations received for any individual.
Category reassignment Coastal Radio reserves the right to move a nomination to a different category if it is deemed more appropriate.
Contact permission By submitting a nomination, you consent to Coastal Radio contacting you with information relating to the radio station and the Local Hero Awards.
Media participation As a nominator, you may be invited to appear in a short video explaining why your nominee deserves to win.
Accuracy of information All nominations must be truthful, accurate, and based on factual information to the best of your knowledge. Submissions based on hearsay cannot be considered.
