Fleetwood Community Comic Con (FCCC) What's this all about? 🤔

When and where is it? 🤔
Sunday 20th July at Marine Hall and Gardens. The same day as Fleetwood Festival of Transport (better known to locals as Tram Sunday) and Fleetwood’s Food and Drink Festival. That's three amazing FREE events in one amazing town, on the same day!

I've never been to a comic con. What is it? 🤔

A Comic Con (short for Comic Convention) is a celebration of pop culture, fandoms, and creativity, bringing together fans of comics, movies, TV shows, gaming, cosplay, and more. It’s a place where you can meet like-minded people, discover incredible artists and traders, take part in fun activities, and see amazing cosplayers dressed as their favorite characters.

All Comic Cons are slightly different but like ours many feature special guests, panels, workshops and performances, making it a unique and exciting experience for fans of all ages. Whether you're a lifelong fan or just curious, a Comic Con is a welcoming space where everyone can express their passion and immerse themselves in the worlds they love.

How’s FCCC different from most other Comic Cons? 🤔

We're proud to say we were England’s first Comic Con to be structured as a Community Interest Company (CIC), after OH!CON in the Outer Hebrides was the first in the UK. The only other CIC Comic Con currently is Luton Comic Con, but we're hoping more will follow.

Being a CIC for us means we’re a not-for-profit organisation that exists solely to benefit the community, not private shareholders! All our organisers are volunteers, from our directors and section managers to our outreach team, no one takes a wage, because we do this for the love of fandom and our community.

As a community-driven organisation, we also provide free spaces for local charities, groups, and organisations to showcase their work to the public. This opportunity can also be used to raise funds for their cause or a chosen charity.

    How’s FCCC funded? 🤔

Running a Comic Con isn’t cheap! Costs for essentials like the venue, insurance, first aid, and activities can quickly add up. Most Comic Cons charge an entry fee to cover these expenses, but we’re different! FCCC remains completely free to attend, thanks to multiple funding sources, including trader spot sales, sponsorships, fundraising, donations, and government or charitable grants. These income streams ensure we can keep the event accessible to everyone while still delivering an amazing experience for the community.

How can I help or get involved? 🤔

✅ Spread the Word – Like, share, and comment on our posts to help us reach more people
✅ Attend and Have Fun! – Simply turn up and enjoy the day! Maybe, dress up as your favourite character if you want.
✅ Volunteer – We’re always looking for passionate people to help with planning, running activities or assisting on the day.
✅ Make a Donation – Every little bit helps to keep the event free and accessible for everyone
✅ Sponsor an Activity or Entertainment – Local businesses and individuals can support us through sponsorships to help fund free activities and experiences.

Simply get in contact with us if you want to help make FCCC a success fleetwoodcommunitycomiccon@gmail.com
