Sir Lenny Henry presents “Family Fun in a Field” accolade to founders Edward and Anthony Prophet at Blackpool’s iconic Grand Ballroom.

The remarkable rise of The Brit Fest continues after the rapidly growing Cheshire festival picked up another major industry accolade at the prestigious Skiddle 25 Years Awards, held in the spectacular surroundings of Blackpool’s world famous Grand Ballroom.

Festival founders Edward Prophet and Anthony Prophet were presented with the coveted “Family Fun in a Field” Award by Lenny Henry, recognising The Brit Fest’s outstanding ability to create a joyful, inclusive and unforgettable experience for festivalgoers of all ages.

The latest honour adds further momentum to what has become one of the North West’s standout live entertainment success stories, with the team behind Great British Festivals continuing an extraordinary run of recognition across the events industry.

Held at Ashley Hall Showground in Altrincham, The Brit Fest has rapidly earned a reputation for combining iconic live music with family friendly entertainment, wellness experiences, premium hospitality and a uniquely welcoming atmosphere that attracts audiences from across the UK and beyond.

The award follows a landmark 2025 edition of the festival, which welcomed more than 30,000 attendees across four unforgettable days of music, entertainment and celebration.

This year’s event featured spectacular performances from artists including UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Razorlight, 10cc, Midge Ure, Tom Bailey of Thompson Twins, Musical Youth and Katrina, alongside immersive wellness spaces, creative Busk Stops, family attractions and a world record breaking Hokey Cokey led by Black Lace.

And the momentum is only building.

The Brit Fest 2026 is already shaping up to be the biggest edition yet, with major names including Happy Mondays, Cast, Holly Johnson, Jason Donovan, Wet Wet Wet, Eternal and more set to join the festival across four massive summer days.

    Festival Director Edward Prophet said:

“Receiving this award from Sir Lenny Henry in such an iconic venue was an incredibly proud moment for us. The Brit Fest has always been about creating something that feels uplifting, welcoming and full of connection. To see people of all generations coming together through music and shared experiences is what it’s all about.”

    He added:

“Every year the festival seems to grow in both scale and spirit. What makes us proudest is hearing how much the weekend means to people. Those moments of joy, nostalgia and togetherness are what stay with you long after the music ends.”

Anthony Prophet, Commercial Director of Great British Festivals, said:

“The support for The Brit Fest has been phenomenal and this latest recognition means a huge amount to the whole team. We’ve worked incredibly hard to build something that feels special from the moment people arrive on site, and it’s amazing to see that continue to resonate with audiences, artists and the industry alike.”

The latest Skiddle success adds to an increasingly impressive list of achievements for The Brit Fest and its founders. Other recent honours include winning Leading Live Event 2025 at the This is Manchester Awards, alongside multiple festival award nominations and recognition from the High Sheriff of Manchester for outstanding community contribution.

Earlier this year, Edward and Anthony Prophet were also formally recognised as Freemen of Altrincham by the town’s historic Court Leet, celebrating their contribution to the local area through music, events and community focused projects.

The festival’s impact continues to extend well beyond the arena itself, with hotels, restaurants, bars and independent businesses across Altrincham, Hale, Knutsford and the surrounding region reporting significant increases in bookings and visitor numbers during festival weekend.

Attention is already turning towards The Brit Fest 2026, which returns to Ashley Hall from 2 to 5 July 2026, with organisers promising an even bigger celebration of music, entertainment and unforgettable shared experiences.

The 2026 edition of The Brit Fest is proudly powered by ABC Warranty, whose ongoing support continues to help drive the festival’s ambitious growth and future vision.

Alongside the continued growth of The Brit Fest, Edward and Anthony Prophet are also preparing to launch their latest major production, the Christmas Musical Spectacular, with two huge arena shows set for AO Arena this December.
