Portsmouth host to the Cod Army at Fratton Park this Saturday, being Fleetwood’s last fixture before Christmas Day.

Since their last fixture, Fleetwood have moved from 21st to 22nd in the League One table. They are positioned -3 goals below Carlisle, but level on goal difference, following their 1-0 loss against 2nd place Peterborough last weekend.

However, Lee Johnson’s team could still manage to surpass Carlisle if they achieved just one point out of this upcoming fixture.

They now have the 3rd worst form in League One, behind Burton and Wycombe with 4 losses and a win.

Despite only losing 1-0 to Peterborough, Portsmouth are positioned at 1st in the League One table so will inevitably prove significant challenges to FTFC.

Pompey have won their last four matches and lost their 5th most recent one, an opposite form to the Cods.

Portsmouth have an outstanding lead at the top of the table, with a gap of seven points between the leaders and their 2nd place rivals, Peterborough.

32 points separate Fleetwood and Portsmouth, but ever it is most likely that Portsmouth will take the three points from their northern rivals this weekend.

Especially because Fleetwood Town have failed to score in their last six games in all competitions, however still conceding 17 goals.

Fleetwood may be looking for new management ahead of the January transfer window, in hopes of returning to winning ways and a avoiding relegation to League Two this season.

Fleetwood have not had a win since their 3-0 victory over Exeter City at Highbury Stadium, over one month ago, on 11th November.
