A new Asian fusion buffet restaurant is to open in the heart of Blackpool town centre after a soft launch

Asia Alley Fusion Buffet has set up in premises next door to the town’s Halifax Bank on Church Street, on the corner of Adelphi Street.
The first signs went up earlier this week and a small handful of invited diners were able to sample some of its wares on Friday.
This new eatery is set to officially launch in August, with fixtures and fittings still being finalised.
The premises were previously occupied by another eatery, Turkish restaurant Trend Shawarma and Grill, which permanently closed in April after being open for less than a year.
Asia Alley will add to the cosmopolitan feel of the town centre’s dining scene. Last year another buffet, Umami World Kitchen, opened just doors away, offering a mix of cuisine, from Italian to Thai.
Cllr Jon Bamborough, who worked in the hospitality trade for many years, said he welcomed a new business taking over an empty unit.
He said: “I’d rather have a new business than empty premises, that’s for sure.
“I think it’s good to have healthy competition, it can drive up footfall and help existing businesses.
“I’m sure it will be a welcome addition to our town centre.”
