Police officers from our Specialist Operations teams were on the Grange Park estate tackling the illegal use of high-powered e-bikes
Proactive patrols deployed specialist tactics which lead to 5 bikes being seized.
One rider was arrested for drink-driving, refusing to provide a drug test, driving without a licence and no insurance.
A further four people were processed for riding without a licence or insurance.
"When these types of bikes are being ridden dangerously, or used to facilitate other crimes such as drug supply, riders can expect to be met with robust policing tactics to keep everyone safe.
"We understand the community's concerns about vehicle ASB and will continue to work hard to tackle the issues you are telling us are important where you live. Please keep reporting activity through 101 or via online reports. If it is safe to do so, consider obtaining photo or video evidence and sharing with us so we can make further enquiries."
If you have information about where illegal bikes are being used or stored, you can submit this anonymously through Crimestoppers.
